The Madonna del Carmine’s Saint Feast in Millesimo

One of the most important confectionery events in the Val Bormida area is traditionally held on July 16 and is the Madonna del Carmine’s Saint Feast.
This feast was set up to commemorate the Marian apparition that English presbyter Simone Stock claimed had place on July 16, 1251 during which he would have received from the Virgin a scapular and the revelation of privileges associated with his devotion.
