Palio of Wagons in Giustenice

Historical reenactment and medieval themed dinner, the last week of July, in the hamlet of San Michele. In addition to the procession of the representatives of the neighbourhood of Giustenice, since 1972, the “Palio dei Carri” has been held, referring to the historical episode of 1448 when the Republic of Genoa and the Del Carretto family were involved in a siege in the local castle for controlling the territory. The contestants faced themselves by pushing two-wheeled wagons into a direct elimination race, until the final conquest of a drape.
